How do i get rid of the background of a picture on powerpoint 2007?

Posted on March 26, 2009. Filed under: Powerpoint Tips |

ike i have a picture of bus on a white background. i want to get rid of the white background to isolate just the bus.

Select the picture and click on the Format tab at the top.

Go to the left side where it says Recolor. Click on that.

At the bottom, you’ll see a little “pen” with an arrow that says Select Transparent Color. Click on it, then go to your picture and put the pointer over the white and click on it. There goes the white.

PowerPoint hint/cheat – if there are other white parts in the middle of the picture they will also become transparent. So just make a white rectangle or circle or whatever, position and size it over the missing white parts, send it to the back of the picture and then group it with the picture to “fill in” the holes.
